Psychiatric Care for People Who Look Like They Have It Together

Maybe you're the one everyone relies on — at work, at home, in your family. You're capable and high-functioning. But underneath, you're running on empty, and you know something isn't right.

Ways to Work With Me

Anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, and sleep issues rarely show up on their own — they're often tangled up with years of carrying more than anyone realizes. If you've felt rushed through or treated as one piece of a bigger picture, it's not something you're doing wrong.

→ That's why I start by asking the questions most providers don't — the ones that get past "I'm fine" to what's actually going on.

→ From there, we look at the full picture together: your sleep, history, relationships, and life, not just the symptom in front of us.

→ When medication is part of your plan, it's a starting point, not the whole plan — used thoughtfully to create the space for real, lasting change. And every step is collaborative: you understand your options and have a real say in your care.

My goal isn't just symptom relief. It's helping you feel like yourself again.

Conditions & Concerns I Treat

York Psychiatry provides care for adults experiencing:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • ADHD

  • Trauma-related symptoms

  • OCD

  • Insomnia and sleep concerns

  • Mood disorders

  • Burnout and chronic stress

  • Major life transitions

I also specialize in Women’s Mental Health including perimenopause & menopause.

Some conditions require specialized treatment or a higher level of care. If York Psychiatry is not the appropriate setting for your needs, I will be transparent about that.

My 3 Part Process

1

Your first appointment is more than a symptom checklist.

We'll discuss your current concerns as well as relevant psychiatric, medical, medication, family, social, sleep, lifestyle, and life history.

When appropriate, evidence-based screening and assessment tools may also be used.

The goal is to develop a thoughtful clinical picture and discuss treatment recommendations with you—not simply assign a diagnosis based on a questionnaire.

Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation

2

Thoughtful Medication Management

Medication can be an important part of psychiatric treatment, but it isn't automatically the answer to every concern.

When medication is appropriate, we'll discuss:

  • Why it may help

  • Potential benefits

  • Possible risks and side effects

  • Alternatives

  • Your questions and preferences

  • How we'll monitor your response

  • Genesight Pharmacogenomic Testing if indicated

3

Whole-Person Integrative Perspective

Psychiatric symptoms can be affected by factors outside of psychiatry. Depending on your situation, we may consider the role of:

Sleep Nutrition Physical health Hormonal changes Stress Relationships Medications Lifestyle Trauma Life transitions

This doesn't mean assuming every symptom has one hidden "root cause." It means remaining curious enough to consider the factors that may be contributing and addressing what can reasonably be addressed.

When appropriate and with your permission, I can collaborate with your therapist, primary care clinician, women's health provider, or other members of your healthcare team.
